Cross Country had an outstanding season!

Successful, the season of the patriots, with 8th grade top 3 finisher Erin Palmer. Though she ran hard with the high schoolers she said her season was very "exciting". I questioned what it was like running with high schoolers Erin answered "All the highschoolers are very accepting. We come to practice looking forward to having a good time, and working hard. There are lots of team bonding activities we do (camp-outs, team dinners, etc). This year we had a relatively young team, but in the beginning we knew that this team was special. Throughout the season, we were not ranked in the top 8, but our coaches believed that we could be “top dog.” At state we proved them right by placing 3rd by only one point!."

Another question I pondered on was, which race was best for you along with your time? She answered "Valley City, which was when she placed 5th with a time of 18 minutes 36 seconds. A similar question was what was your favorite/best experience for you? She responded "My favorite race was probably State, just because we were so close to winning when we were the underdogs. The team had such a good attitude and almost all the athletes walked away from the course feeling good." From reading this article I feel Erin Palmer will do great things in her life, because she is so kind, hard working, and pushed herself to be that far ahead of other kids.
