Heya and welcome to my JAGS Student Website. I'm Duncan Buckerfield, a member of the JAGS/JHS class of 2022. I have been a JAGS member for all four years, a Leader for three, and the Head Leader for two. JAGS has led me to some of the most influential expericences I have had and pushed me beyond the traditional frame of thinking. I'm passionate about sustainability (seen above is all of the trash produced from a 1000+ person dinner). I will be joining the Cornell University class of 2026 in the fall to study Industrial & Labor Relations.

JAGS Resolution

For 2021, I had the goal of looking to communicate and synthesize ideas from new sources. To sound less pretentious, basically, I am hoping to gather ideas from people I usually don't get the opportunity to talk to. For me, this would be reaching out to more conservative standpoints and seeing perspectives with more nuance than just side vs side. I believe these would fit into UN Sustainable Development Goals #4 and #10. Goal #4 looks to grow education around the world, a good education is one that allows for varied perspectives and connecting with people from schools around the world. Goal #10 aims to reduce inequality and encourages connection across class, race, etc. I need to make a more concerted effort to find and encourage new voices to speak and uplift voices traditionally not heard.
