EHO KNOWS
Podcast
Starting as the sole editor and expanding to more of a director role of EHO Knows, I managed the full post-production process, including editing episodes, creating thumbnail illustrations/ end cards, and producing social media content. I’m also responsible for uploading each episode across platforms, writing accompanying articles for our website, and coordinating with guests throughout the production process.
EHO Knows is the podcast for Environmental Health Officers (EHOs). Each episode dives into the highs and lows of an EHOs daily work, offering tips, insights, and a humorous outlook. Our audience includes both seasoned EHOs or those just starting out in the field which still makes it an incredibly niche topic and audience.
As of this writing, we've released 10 episodes across Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube, with approximately 1,900 streams across platforms and a consistently growing listener base with each new release.
A Number of the podcasts achievements on Spotify alone, by the end of its first year.

Final design simplified to match the rest of the thumbnails.
Audio & Visual Editing
I initially handled both the audio and visual editing for each episode, using Descript for trimming, levelling, and syncing, and occasionally Premiere Pro to address echo or feedback and adjust colour, contrast, and brightness for consistency between host and guest. About a year into production, an external editor was brought on, and I stepped back from regular episode editing.
Graphic Design & Illustration
I created thumbnails, overlays, start/end cards, advertisements, logos, and other graphics in Photoshop, often incorporating small caricatures of guests. This role also included developing episode titles, and copy writing the descriptions.
Content Management
I managed the distribution and promotion of each episode, uploading content to Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube, and producing supporting promotional assets such as images, captions, and short-form videos for social media.
Post-recording Guest Communication
While initial guest outreach was handled by the host, I managed post-recording communication and overhauled this stage of the workflow I kept hitting a bottleneck during guest revisions. From this I created a suite of email templates as well as a shared tracking spreadsheet to monitor each episode’s stage of production, guest communication, and key production details.
Good morning,
I thought I would reach out and let you know how much I have been enjoying your EHO Knows series. I look forward to listening to each new episode (usually on Spotify whilst I'm driving around the Council) and how each guest has a unique story and perspective. It's something that seems to be a common trend in EH, with all of us EHOs coming from different backgrounds and having different experiences - yet have a common goal.
I have seen other similar type podcasts over the years come and go (mostly produced by a Gov agency and are really dry and boring), but I gotta say yours is by far the most schmick and entertaining. As I'm sure you've come to realise, our profession is very much unrecognised and undervalued, so your contribution in this area on increasing our exposure is truly appreciated.
I sit on the board of EHA here in South Australia, of which I have been encouraging our constituents to listen in to your show. I think if something like this were around when I first started, it would've really helped (and perhaps saved me from some future embarrassment). Well, I look forward to seeing what is to come and offer my support in helping promote your channel.
Kind Regards,
