PNGTubers are a simplified alternative to VTubers, using illustrated avatars with limited animated states rather than full motion capture. In this case, the avatars featured five facial states, allowing for variations in eye and mouth movement while keeping the technical setup lightweight.

With most of the technical implementation handled by the streamers themselves, the core of this project was in ideation and, finding a way to visually represent the creators on screen without distracting from gameplay or other on-stream content. This required careful consideration of scale, placement, and visual hierarchy.

Peaches & Yuzu already had a strong fruit-themed identity, which became central to the concept. While reviewing their past streams and VODs to understand their visual language, I noticed they regularly welcomed new followers and subscribers “to the fruit basket.” This detail became the foundation for the final design. I worked closely with the duo to develop the idea of placing their avatars within a stylised fruit basket, refining proportions and dimensions to ensure the characters felt present without overwhelming the stream layout.
