BCCHS Career Academies Pathways

A team of area businesses, community and civic organizations, parents, students, BCPS teachers and administration collaboratively developed the academies and pathways listed below for Battle Creek Central High School. This team utilized current and projected industry data, student interest surveys, consideration of current and potential capacity for support and growth, models from other Career Academy communities, and available resources to craft academies and pathways that would be relevant to the local workforce and allow each student to graduate with college credit or an industry-recognized credential.

At the end of their Freshman year students choose from one of eight Career Pathways split between two different Academies.

Being a member of a Career Academy & Pathway means that you will be a part of a "school within a school" where you receive instruction that is tailored to your chosen Career Pathway. This means that you will:

  • Take pathway-specific courses.

  • Participate in Career Pathway related programming such as industry tours, college visits, job shadows, mock interviews, internships, and a senior capstone project.

  • Have the opportunity to attain college credit and/or an industry-recognized certification related to their Career Pathway.
