REFLECTION and THE WEEK AHEAD:
Last week was so awesome! Thank you for everyone showing so much appreciation and school spirit throughout the week. The dress up days were amazing, the parade was so much fun, and the performances by our Academic Team students and coaches was a great ending to a wonderful week. Congratulations to all of those students who let everyone in the community know all the great things our Park City Bears are doing in and out of the classroom.
My plan is to have a Popcorn Party for the Bear Paw winners from Friday at 1:45p on Wednesday. I'll email the staff the names of the students who won at the beginning of the week. If we have to adjust, I'll let you know.
REMINDER: please complete the Panorama Winter Survey for all 4th-6th grade students by the end of the day this Friday. Let me know if you need any help.
Thank you to Mrs. Riggs and the Student Council for the dress up days for the next two weeks!!!
PBIS FOR EVERYONE:
WHAT IS PBIS...
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based, tiered framework for supporting students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. When implemented with fidelity, PBIS improves social emotional competence, academic success, and school climate. It also improves teacher health and wellbeing. It is a way to create positive, predictable, equitable and safe learning environments where everyone thrives.

The BEARS Guideline for Success is the foundation of our education process here at Park City Elementary. We can EVEN use it at home. Check back each week as we dig deeper with our BEARS Guideline for Success and connect it to PBIS as well. Make this part of your daily routine and expectations. Our students and staff start each day by stating the BEARS pledge during morning meeting.
Be Encouraging:
At school -- be a good role model, help others that may need it
At home -- use positive language, share devices, help sibling and parents with chores, encourage if people are feeling down

SEL FOR EVERYONE:
WHAT IS SEL?
We define social and emotional learning (SEL) as an integral part of education and human development. SEL is the process through which all young people and adults acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions.
