REFLECTION and THE WEEK AHEAD:
We hope you had a great break and enjoyed the first couple days back to school. Teachers, continue to collect Bear Paws this week. We'll have all the Bear Paws from the last week of December, last week, and this week in the drawing. Remind students we will be drawing BEAR PAWS this Friday during lunch. They must be present to win!!!
PBIS FOR EVERYONE:
WHAT IS PBIS...
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based, tiered framework for supporting students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. When implemented with fidelity, PBIS improves social emotional competence, academic success, and school climate. It also improves teacher health and wellbeing. It is a way to create positive, predictable, equitable and safe learning environments where everyone thrives.

The BEARS Guideline for Success is the foundation of our education process here at Park City Elementary. We can EVEN use it at home. Check back each week as we dig deeper with our BEARS Guideline for Success and connect it to PBIS as well. Make this part of your daily routine and expectations. Our students and staff start each day by stating the BEARS pledge during morning meeting.
Show Everyone Dignity and Respect:
At school -- stay at a level 0 so everyone can learn; be kind to all those around you; be respectful and to others at all times
At home -- ask how you can help your friends and family; share and be mindful of others

SEL FOR EVERYONE:
WHAT IS SEL?
We define social and emotional learning (SEL) as an integral part of education and human development. SEL is the process through which all young people and adults acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions.
