WEEK OF OCTOBER 30TH, 2023
WELCOME TO "GIVE ME FIVE"...
THIS IS WHERE I'LL GIVE YOU FIVE THINGS EACH WEEK THAT MAY BE HELPFUL TO YOU THE STAFF, THE STUDENT, OR THE PARENT. IT MAY BE INFORMATIVE OR REFLECTIVE. YOU MAY USE SOME OF IT TO HELP AT HOME OR IN THE CLASSROOM. SOME OF THE INFO MAY BE FOR YOU TO PLAN YOUR UPCOMING DAYS OR WEEKS. THE GOAL IS TO GIVE YOU AT LEAST ONE THING YOU CAN USE TO MAKE YOUR LIFE A BIT EASIER.

REFLECTION and THE WEEK AHEAD:
Last week we collected 468 Bear Paws and recognized 70 students for their efforts! I'll be sending out information by Tuesday about how we'll be honoring the students' choices of recess, extra essentials time, or lunch with their favorite staff member. Looking at the weather forecast, Thursday or Friday will be the better days for the extra recess winners. I'll contact the staff members who were requested to eat with a student. Let me know the day you prefer to eat with your student and I'll make that happen for each of you.
A special thanks to Mrs. Bonifay for allowing me to come into her class to talk with her 1st graders about "Listening." They did a great job, and I hope to get in to see other classes this week and next. If you have a time or day you prefer, please let me know.
PBIS FOR EVERYONE -- BEAR PAWS:
We have collected over 1500 Bear Paws in the past 3 weeks! Students and staff continue to keep up the great work. The least overall represented trait continues to be APPRECIATIVE. Show your students what it looks like to be appreciative. Be intentional in pointing out those students who are being appreciative by saying please, thank you, you're welcome, and using good manners. Those students that are being really good listeners are being appreciative as well. In our SEL section below, there is a video that may be useful for our primary students to describe what we mean by using our manners and being appreciative of others.

PBIS FOR EVERYONE:
The BEARS Guideline for Success is the foundation of our education process here at Park City Elementary. We can EVEN use it at home. Check back each week as we dig deeper with our BEARS Guideline for Success and connect it to PBIS as well. Make this part of your daily routine and expectations. Our students and staff start each day by stating the BEARS pledge during morning meeting.
Be Appreciative:
At school -- be a good listener; follow directions; say "please" and "thank you"
At home -- use your manners; wait your turn to watch on TV; complete your chores with a happy heart knowing you are doing your part to help
