WEEK OF OCTOBER 23RD, 2023
WELCOME TO "GIVE ME FIVE"...
THIS IS WHERE I'LL GIVE YOU FIVE THINGS EACH WEEK THAT MAY BE HELPFUL TO YOU THE STAFF, THE STUDENT, OR THE PARENT. IT MAY BE INFORMATIVE OR REFLECTIVE. YOU MAY USE SOME OF IT TO HELP AT HOME OR IN THE CLASSROOM. SOME OF THE INFO MAY BE FOR YOU TO PLAN YOUR UPCOMING DAYS OR WEEKS. THE GOAL IS TO GIVE YOU AT LEAST ONE THING YOU CAN USE TO MAKE YOUR LIFE A BIT EASIER.

REFLECTION and THE WEEK AHEAD:
We collected 661 Bear Paws this past week!!! That's almost 300 more than we did in our first week. Again, we got to recognize 70 students with a snack of their choice on Friday. We ask that everyone continue to celebrate our accomplishments every chance you can.
This week, we will be awarding 10 students per grade level with a prize of their choice. Their options will be to choose one of the following: extra recess, extra time in their favorite class, or lunch with their favorite teacher.
PBIS FOR EVERYONE -- BEAR PAWS:
Continue to look out for our students who are trying to earn those Bear Paws! Let's try to beat our record of 660 Bear Paws this week. In our first week, we only had 10 Bear Paws that were designated for the those students who were caught being APPRECIATIVE. We challenged you to find as many Bears as possible that were being APPRECIATIVE. We found 84 moments in which our Bears were being appreciative. Thank you for being intentional in finding those appreciative Bears this week.
This past week, only 34 Bears were caught being ENCOURAGING. Let that be our focus this week. Try to find those Bears that are being good role models for the other students. If you see a student being positive towards others, helping out a classmate, sharing, or using positive and helpful language, give them a Bear Paw. Be sure to check "ENCOURAGING" for those students.

PBIS FOR EVERYONE:
The BEARS Guideline for Success is the foundation of our education process here at Park City Elementary. We can EVEN use it at home. Check back each week as we dig deeper with our BEARS Guideline for Success and connect it to PBIS as well. Make this part of your daily routine and expectations. Our students and staff start each day by stating the BEARS pledge during morning meeting.
Be Encouraging:
At school -- be a good role model; helping others who may need it; using positive and helpful language
At home -- using positive language; sharing with others; helping parents and siblings with household chores
