No, but you’ll save money by visiting a Delta Dental PPO or Premier network dentist. Out-of-network providers are covered, but you may pay more out of pocket.
There is no deductible under the District’s dental plan. However, there is a $1,000 annual maximum per individual, which is the most Delta Dental will pay for covered services per person each plan year. Once the $1,000 limit is reached, you’ll be responsible for any additional dental costs for the remainder of the year.Â
If you or your dependents have dual coverage, Delta Dental will coordinate benefits with the other carrier to ensure claims are processed correctly.
You can make changes during Open Enrollment or if you experience a qualifying life event (marriage, divorce, birth, loss of other coverage, etc.). Documentation of the event must be submitted to HR within 30 days.Â
