• • The purpose of public schools is to prepare students to be critically thinking participants  in the governance of the United States and California.

  • All students have the right to access a high quality, rigorous curriculum.

  • Grades should represent demonstrated student performance.

  • Student rights end where the rights of others begin: No student's rights allow them to interfere with the learning of others.

  • Language, culture, and world view are deeply connected.  Those who are multi-lingual have an advantage in understanding the world around them.

  • Empathy is the foundation that supports the other principals.
