Why do tests take place two or more weeks after the conclusion of the chapter? How am I supposed to study for the previous chapter's test when we're in the midst of the next chapter?
The questions on each test cover topics from throughout the year, not just the current chapter. This model mirrors the practice that students get on their homework assignments. Each test has 6 total questions, 2 questions covering topics from the current chapter and 4 questions covering topics from previous chapters. Our homework is configured with the same ratio. Thus, if a student is regularly doing homework and also routinely employing our homework checking process, that should be sufficient preparation for the questions that they will see on the test. There shouldn't be any extra cramming that is necessary as long as students are regularly understanding how to do the homework problems.
