For his great contributions to Cypress’ run to the Division 1 title and throughout the season, Repetti is the Register’s Orange County baseball player of the year for the 2019 season.
Repetti (6-3, 200), who played third base when he was not pitching, was the Empire League most valuable player. He signed with Cal State Fullerton.
Cypress finished 31-3 overall and went 10-0 in the Empire League. The Centurions concluded the season with 16 straight wins after a 1-0 loss to Orange Lutheran in the consolation bracket championship game of the Boras Classic South tournament.

Repetti’s confidence that Cypress would win the CIF championship grew during the Boras Classic although two of the Centurions’ three losses happened in that four-game tournament.
“We really wanted to win that thing,” Repetti said of the Boras tournament. “We lost (6-3) to a good Mira Costa team in the first round and had to come back the next day and play Huntington Beach, one of the best teams in the country. We came back with a convincing (9-3) win after a really tough loss on the first day and so that’s when it became kind of like, ‘OK, we have a shot to end with a dogpile.’ ”
Repetti was the starting pitcher in the Division 1 championship game against Harvard-Westlake of Studio City at Dodger Stadium. He went 5 1/3 innings in which he gave up three hits, no runs, zero walks with six strikeouts. Cypress won the game 2-0, and that dogpile of celebrating Centurions indeed happened.
Cypress coach John Weber enjoyed watching Repetti mature this season into an outstanding player.
“He pitched his tail off all year for us and he dominated people,” Weber said. “From an offensive perspective, he didn’t put up earth-shattering numbers, but he was clutch for us. He did well at the end when we needed him to.”
