2007 OC Register's Orange County Girls Golf Coach of the Year
Doug Mitchell led the Centurions to a Runner-Up finish in the CIF Divisional and the CIF/SCGA tournament. 2007 was the 2nd of 3 straight years as the CIF-SS Divisional Runner-Up. The girls team would go on to finish 4th in the State, led by 4th place state individual placer, Lalita Patipaksiri, and 6th place finisher, Amelia Ek. For his efforts, Coach Mitchell was named the OC Register's Girls Golf Coach of the Year.

Not surprisingly, Orange County’s top-ranked team in girls’ golf also had the county’s player of the year, according to the OC Register. Cypress’ Lalita Patipaksiri medaled in 10 of 14 matches for the Centurions, who showed this fall they weren’t just about football.
Doug Mitchell, the Cypress coach, made it an awards sweep by garnering Coach of the Year honors.
