Clarence Moore was a wide receiver for the Lumberjacks from 2000-03, leaving the program as one of the top wide receivers not only in NAU Football history, but also in the 50-plus year history of the Big Sky Conference. Moore, a two-time First Team All-Big Sky selection (2002 and 2003), stands alone in NAU Football history in career receiving yards with 3,042, making him the only player in the history of NAU to eclipse the 3,000 yard mark in that statistic. Moore’s 28 receptions for touchdowns rank number one in school history. Moore caught 182 passes wearing the blue and gold, third all-time in Lumberjack history. His career yards per catch of 16.7 ranks sixth all-time for NAU, while his 3,190 career all-purpose yards rank 10th. Moore put together one of the best pass catching seasons in 2003, helping the Lumberjacks to the Big Sky Conference Championship, the Division 1-AA Playoffs and a first round playoff win at No. 1 McNeese State. That year, Moore set a single season record for receiving yards with 1,184. Moore’s 63 catches tie him for the ninth most in a single season, while his 12 touchdown catches are the second most ever in a single year. Moore played in an NAU record 46 career games (including two playoff games). Moore’s pass receiving skills and accomplishments as a NAU Lumberjack, propelled him into a three-year run in the NFL. In 2004, Moore was drafted in the sixth round by the Baltimore Ravens.
