What you will submit for this assignment is only ONE part: reflection on TWO emotions.
For this assignment, you will explore emotion and what emotion can tell you about who you are and how you want to be the change. Emotions have been described as important signals that something is right or wrong, and that some action might be needed. By becoming more aware of our emotions on a regular basis, this can help us to better understand how emotion affects us, which in turn, can lead to us responding to our emotions in a more intentional way, rather than simply reacting to them or being driven by them unconsciously. The aim of this assignment is to encourage us to develop the habit of becoming more regularly attuned to our emotions and to use that attention to better manage and respond to our emotions in healthier ways, also known as emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence can help us to achieve our goal of being the change.

Over the period of a few days, try to notice when you are experiencing an emotion.
Keep an emotions journal. As soon as you have a moment, sit down in a quiet place with yourself and tune in to yourself and your body. Think about and then freewrite. This might include any of the following -- but there is no set way to do this. See this example if you find it helpful.
Try to name the emotion as specifically as possible. Refer to the emotion wheel if you find this helpful.
Describe how this emotion feels, focusing especially where in your body you experience it and how it feels physically.
Analyze why you think you might be experiencing this emotion. What was going on when it happened? What might have triggered it? How intense was/is it? What do you think this emotion might be telling you?
Note: You can write about as many experiences with emotion as you like, but at least TWO. Please also note that you do not need to include this emotion journal in the written reflection you submit to Turnitin.
Write up a reflection on what you have learned. In this reflection, describe at least two emotions you have reflected on. Then provide a brief analysis, focusing on what you have learned about your experience with emotion, and connect this learning to what you are learning about who you are and how you would like to be the change. Submit your reflection to Turnitin.
Note: If you would like to complete this assignment in another way, such as through poetry, visual art or a video reflection, you may. If poetry/visual art, then please provide a brief description of what you were trying to depict, insights you have gained through this exploration, and how it can connect to being the change.
