What you submit for this assignment consists of TWO parts: A description and reflection
For this assignment, you will reflect on a time when you drew on your own sense of agency to act. This could be related to any action you remember taking that you found meaningful and positive. For example, it could be a time when you did something to promote social justice, helped someone in need or crisis, changed the way something was being done, spoke up about something you thought was not right, or filled a need that you saw as important. You will briefly describe the context and what you did and why, and then reflect on why this experience was so meaningful to you and what it might say about how you are becoming the change. The purpose of the assignment is to help you see your own potential as an agent of change, and to celebrate your positive powers to act.
Note: You can do this as a written response OR as a video response. If you choose a video, share the link to your video with me by Whatsapp or email AND submit a document to Turnitin that says you have submitted a video.
Description:
What is the context for the action? Briefly describe. What action did you take? Why?
Why did you pick this incident/experience? How did you feel -- about the issue and about your action?
What happened afterwards? Results?
Reflection:
Why do you think this incident/experience is meaningful to you?
What did you learn from taking action in this context?
What might this action say about how you are becoming the change?
The point here is that you are trying to understand more about yourself as a powerful human agent of change, and to extend this learning to how it can inform who you want to be and how you want to be the change going forward.
See my example if you find it helpful. Please remember, there is no one way to do this assignment.
