June Milestone Events 

So many fun events are happening in the month of June as we bring another school year to close.

Kindergarten will celebrate their year with a field trip to the Zoo, in lieu of a Kindergarten graduation event.
If you are a Kinder-parent interested in volunteering for this trip please connect with your student's Kindergarten Teacher.

Fifth graders will have many opportunities to celebrate their transition to middle school and we welcome parents to attend and participate in some of those events including Junior Olympics, Junior Achievement Biztown, and a 5th grade celebration on June 21st. We will also take all 5th graders to Mt. Baker for a visit on June 14th.

King County Library Summer Reading Program 

Students will learn about the library summer reading program at assemblies on June 9th. We will be sharing more information regarding how to get involved. Track the time you spend reading this summer. To participate, complete the Reading Challenge log or create an account in Beanstack. Your goal is to read 20 minutes per day (or set your own reading goal) between June 1 and August 31.Read anything you want. This includes reading to someone else or listening to an audiobook. Reading is important for all ages! 

Research shows that children and teens grow their reading skills when they choose their own books and read for enjoyment. Reading for pleasure also benefits adults. It improves brain health, reduces stress, and offers opportunities for learning and growth. You can encourage reading by setting aside time every day to read together as a family.   https://kcls.org/summer/ 

Ilalko Summer School Program 

Each year we offer a summer school program to student, students will be invited by their teachers to participate in the summer school program. We also offer a summer program for our Multilingual students. If your student was not invited to participate in summer school, but you have an interest in participating, you can reach out to Mrs. Siegrist Jseigrist@auburn.wednet.edu Summer school runs Mondays-Thursdays July 31st - August 17th. We are working on getting a bus option for families who live in Cobble Court Apartments.

Parent Volunteer Renewal 

This is a reminder that each year you must renew your parent volunteer paperwork. Follow the link on our website to renew your background check so that you can volunteer at the start of next school year. Parent Volunteer Renewal Paperwork 

Parent Feedback for Class Placements 

While Ilalko does not take requests for class placements, your feedback is important to us. If you wish to provide feedback regarding your student's class placement you can do that by completing this form. Please share anything you'd like us to consider as we place your student into a class for the following year. PARENT FEEDBACK FORM 

Open House and Back to School Details 

You can expect to receive a letter in the month of August from your student's new teacher. You will also receive information about our Fall Open House and back to school events in the month of August. If your student is on a In-district or out-of-district Waiver, please visit our front office to complete your waiver paperwork for the coming year. This must be done every school year! 

Are you moving over the summer? If you are moving out of district or to another area in Auburn, please let our front office team know ASAP. 

Last Day of School Schedule and Details 

The last day of school is only two hours long. We will hold two PRIDE awards assemblies and have time for signing yearbooks and memory books that day for all grades. If you ordered a yearbook, your student will receive the yearbook on June 20th. Students will arrive home on buses 41/2 hours earlier than usual on the last day of school. 

Forever Huskies! 

A few teachers and staff members will be saying goodbye to us at the end of the school year. Mrs. Kaela Church will be joining the counseling team at Pioneer Elementary. Mrs. Erika Moore will become the Title Reading Specialists at Lakeland Hills Elementary. Mrs. Leane Marx will become the Resource Room teacher at Bowman Creek Elementary. Mrs. LauraLea Burton, our Office Assistant and Recess duty, will be living her dream traveling with her husband next year! Ms. Lauren Nye, will be missed as the Covid para position is no longer available to schools post-covid. In addition, Mr. Howard, our guest teacher from Mrs. Danielle Smith will be wrapping up his time with us as Mrs. Smith returns from Maternity leave. We will deeply miss these staff members who have made such an impression on us and been a huge part of life at Ilalko. They will always be Ilalko Huskies!!! Lastly, Mrs. Sarah Spring will be moving from her position as a first grade teacher to our Instructional Specialist position.

Tantos eventos divertidos están sucediendo en el mes de junio a medida que cerramos otro año escolar.

El Kindergarten celebrará su año con una excursión al zoológico, en lugar de un evento de graduación de Kindergarten.

Programa de lectura de verano de la biblioteca del condado de King

Programa de Escuela de Verano de Ilalko

Cada año ofrecemos un programa de escuela de verano a los estudiantes, los maestros invitarán a los estudiantes a participar en el programa de escuela de verano. También ofrecemos un programa de verano para nuestros estudiantes multilingües. Si su estudiante no fue invitado a participar en la escuela de verano, pero tiene interés en participar, puede comunicarse con la Sra. SiegristJseigrist@auburn.wednet.edu La escuela de verano se lleva a cabo de lunes a jueves del 31 de julio al 17 de agosto. Estamos trabajando para obtener una opción de autobús para las familias que viven en Cobble Court Apartments.

Casa Abierta y Detalles de Regreso a Clases

Puede esperar recibir una carta en el mes de agosto del nuevo maestro de su estudiante. También recibirá información sobre nuestra Casa Abierta de Otoño y eventos de regreso a la escuela en el mes de agosto. Si su estudiante tiene una Exención dentro o fuera del distrito, visite nuestra oficina principal para completar la documentación de su exención para el próximo año. ¡Esto debe hacerse cada año escolar!

¿Te mudas durante el verano? Si se muda fuera del distrito o a otra área en Auburn, informe a nuestro equipo de recepción lo antes posible.

Horario y detalles del último día de clases

El último día de clases dura solo dos horas. Tendremos dos asambleas de premios PRIDE y tendremos tiempo para firmar anuarios y libros de recuerdos ese día para todos los grados. Si ordenó un anuario, su estudiante lo recibirá el 20 de junio. El estudiante llegará a casa en los autobuses 4 1/2 horas antes de lo habitual el último día de clases.
