ILA Calendar for Families

Food Drive Details 

The Auburn Food Bank is accepting all non-perishable food items and monetary contributions.  


During the week of March 11-15th student will receive a raffle ticket each day they bring in a food drive item or cash donation. We will do a daily drawing to select winners.  


During the week of March 18th-24th students will have the opportunity to participate in spirit week for a can of food or a $1.00.  The goal is to have fun while helping with a great cause.    


The class with the most donations will win a pizza party and the second-place class will win a popsicle party to help motivate them.

There are so many exciting things happening at Ilalko and March is another month with a full calendar of activities. Some things we look forward to include our district food drive, classified employers appreciation month, PTA dinner, and a Family Connection Night later in the month. Stay tuned for more details coming home in student's take home folder regarding how to be involved in these events.

Ms. Joni is our Office Manager. She manages the school calendar, the principal’s calendar. She makes sure classes get taught when teachers are out, supplies get purchased, and people get paid on time! Ms. Cindy supports attendance, enrollment/withdrawal, and recess supervision. Ms. Lanisha supports discipline and PRIDE assemblies, as well as recess supervision. She is currently supporting the health room as our guest health tech. Mrs. Coke is our health tech and she works with our school nurse in order to provide health room support to students through-out the day. This includes helping students who are not feeling 100%. All of them work together to handle the daily business of the school. They prioritize making sure that our front office is safe and welcoming to all who enter. Grandma Judy is a former volunteer turned recess duty. She is well-loved by the students and shows up rain or shine to make sure that kids are safe on the playground.

Ms. Kerbs, Ms. Becca, and Ms. Michaela are our resource room paraeducator. In our Student Learning Center (SLC) program we have several amazing paraeducators. Ms. Jessica, Ms. Leonna, Ms. Jimette and Ms. Serenity all work with students. All of these paras stand out for their smiling faces, dedication to students and support for small group and 1:1 instruction aligned to student IEPS.

Custodial Team


Mr. Stan is our head custodian. You can't miss him giving kids high fives and greeting everyone in the morning. He is often found cleaning the exterior of the school, supporting lunch stations, working with district maintenance teams, and responding to a variety of needs throughout the day. Mr. Lewis and Mrs. Senyuk are our evening custodians. They keep our bathrooms and classrooms clean and often support us with evening events. If you come to an event at school you will probably see them helping to set up and clean up after the events are over.

In the kitchen, we have Ms. Erin, Ms. Carole, Ms. Irina and Ms. Maria serving up fresh and healthy meals each day. They are wonderful and warm and often the first people to greet our students in the morning

We have paraeducators who are dedicated to our preschool program. Ms. Mia, Ms. Deanna, and Ms. Shrader can be found working with our smallest learners, keeping them safe and engaged in learning during the day. Ms. Mia is also part of our Right at School Team. These women have amazing energy to keep up with our tiniest huskies.

We have the best Title paraeducators, Ms. Chrishna, Ms. Kim, Ms. McQuade, Ms. Middelburg, Ms. Novinski, Mrs. Schwab, and Ms. Schweitzer and Ms. Plante. All day long they work with small groups of students to ensure that students are learning how to read. They also help to administer assessments, work with our summer school, or before school program, and support students who need coaching and care. Our Title team provides math intervention, and recess room program giving kids alternatives to going outside for recess. They are often willing to step up to help in a variety of ways to keep our school safe. Ms. Middleburg can be found each morning keeping students safe at the crosswalk. We also have Ms. Carrie who supports our Kindergarten and First grade students with math and reading by pulling small groups to work on targeted skills each day.

Mrs. Foucher is a friendly, familiar face in the library. She has been involved with Ilalko for many years as a staff member and Ilalko parent. She is a huge help to Mrs. Anderson. She plays a big role in our digital parades, book fairs, and other special work of the library. Our library program simply would not be the same without her. 



Family Engagement Liaison

Ms. Zoe is our school family liaison. She helps to connect our families with resources such as school supplies, coats, shoes, etc. She helps with holiday and food support for families as well. She organizes parent meetings and events for the school. She wants Ilalko’s support for families to be known across the district and she works daily to make that vision a reality.   


ML Team
Ms. Tamami and Ms. Irina support our Multilingual program at Ilalko. They work in the classroom and in small groups to support students with their English Language development. Mrs. Womack also supports our student

Congratulations to Mrs. Egbert, Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. Liliequist, Mrs. Stockton, and Mrs. Jobe for receiving classroom grants from the Auburn Public Schools Foundation. Teachers will be using these grants to improve learning and opportunities in the classroom.
