Leading Beyond the Library
Vision and Mission for common goals for student learning.
Mission: Our mission is to promote a safe, inclusive, engaging learning environment to promote critical thinking, citizenship, and student empowerment through strong school and community relationships.
Vision: Our Athens school community will cultivate and promote a positive, inclusive culture of respect with equity, integrity, and dignity. Students will be empowered to thrive emotionally, socially, and academically within a proactive, compassionate, and nurturing system of support.
Technology Mission: Instructional technology focuses on curriculum as the driving force behind the technology we use to support inquiry, innovation, and exploration. Through the integration of technology into our schools, we create interactive classroom environments that empower our faculty, staff, and students with safe and secure opportunities to expand their knowledge and strengthen their skills. We strive to build a community of global and digital citizens by utilizing technology in new and exciting ways and ensure digital equity so that each and every student receives the tools required for them to be successful.
Future Ready Language: Leads Beyond the Library (Collaborative Leadership):
Participates in setting the district’s vision and strategic plan for digital learning and fosters a culture of collaboration and innovation to empower teachers and learners.
This library realizes the value of maintaining a book collection that not only reflects the school community but also is reflective of the global community of which we all are a part. Recognizing that centering diversity means centering the stories, experiences, and voices of historically marginalized people, including people of color, indigenous voices, LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies, differently-abled individuals, and neurodiverse voices. “This Plan also serves as a roadmap for districts when developing their local integrated library media and technology plan for funding allocations, professional development, infrastructure planning and instructional practices.” (https://dpi.wi.gov/digital-learning/goals)
