Cultivates partnerships within the school and local community (families and caregivers, non-profit organizations, government agencies, public and higher education libraries, businesses, etc.) to promote engagement and a lifelong learning process.
The following partnerships currently exist with the community.
The local county library --Marathon County Public Library--Athens Branch is located inside the village limits and many students also use the resources that they have. The LMS does communicate with the branch at least once a quarter in person. MCPL does promote their summer reading program and resources to this public school.

Stoney Acres, a local business, is currently doing a summer reading program.
Miltrim Farms, a local business, has done a book night to promote reading.
Cenex, a local business, offers free pizza coupons to students to are doing reading challenges.
Two Scholatic Book Fairs are housed at Athens Elementary (one in fall and one in spring) and local people are invited to peruse it. An Usborne Book Fair is done in the fall at Maple Grove.
Family Engagement nights will be provided at both elementary schools.
Guest Readers from local businesses have been offered to come to read to the elementary school students.
We currently do team with the Athens Elementary School's YES group and Maple Grove's PTO to foster connections.

The LMS would like to continue the partnership with MCPL to further ensure students have their needs met.
Strategies to build stronger community partnerships
Being visible at more events. Hosting events to bring in the community-within COVID restrictions. Continue including library topics on our Athens1.org website and Facebook page.
