Library plan alignment to the district strategic plan
As this current plan is being written, the district strategic plan is also being rewritten. Currently, Theme 1 of Student Learning is shared for maximizing learning through academic performance--being learner-centered. Theme 3 deals with communication as the ITLC recognizes parent and business participation in support of learners and development. Click here for district strategic plan.
Library program utilizes digital tools to support and promote equitable access to information and resources
Currently, the school district is utilizing Chromebooks from kindergarten grade through senior year in a 1:1 manner. Students in fourth grade through senior class can take their Chromebook home to complete assignments. Secondary staff are using Schoology to have digital assignments for their classes. Elementary staff are using SeeSaw to communicate between home and school.
Our website is ADA accessible.
Our website under the ITLC resources has curated and vetted resources for web tools in one spot.
The library program provides many audiobooks. It also provides two platforms with ebooks--both do provide audiobooks for many of the options of books available.
The library (ITLC) itself provides a safe and quiet place to check out books and magazines, plus has four computers to work on in both AMS/AHS and Athens Elementary. Maple Grove has a much smaller library in square feet; therefore, most library classes are provided in their classroom.
The district supports the library program to ensure students have access to the resources, human and physical, they need to optimize their learning
The district fully supports the library program and its goals. Students have equal access to all resources that the district is able to provide. The library is available to everyone and provides equity of access to its tools and opportunities.
