Carlyn D. Ludlow has been a classroom teacher, an associate professor and program chair, an assistant dean, and a research/curriculum consultant for schools, businesses, and government agencies during her tenure in education. Professor Ludlow has been recognized by districts, state agencies, and private corporations for her research, publications, and presentations in these areas. She is a twice honored university faculty member of the year and a recipient of a university distinguished contribution award. Since joining the faculty team at Arizona State University, Professor Ludlow successfully led the Teachers College implementation of the LEAD (Learn, Explore, Advance, Design) project, the redesign of the lower division curriculum, the conception and implementation of learning community cohorts for first and second-year teacher education students, and is currently spearheading the curricular and structural redesign of the undergraduate teacher preparation programs. She is researching initiatives that promote success for first-year full-time freshman in the teachers’ college and she and her team are also researching ways for sophomores to feel connected to the college and the field of education through civic engagement while advancing future educators’ knowledge and skills.
Dr. Jill Wendt received her Doctorate in Education in Leadership and Innovation in May 2014. Her research interests and publications have focused on minority male retention in higher education. She has served as adjunct faculty for eight years teaching psychology and sociology courses. In addition to her faculty and researcher role, she was a practitioner in Student Affairs with Educational Outreach Student Success Department at Arizona State University where her work with diversity, culture, and student success continued. In August 2016, she joined the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College as a full time faculty member and is teaching Educational Psychology courses. Her interests include the continuation of a holistic approach to student development, achievement, and success.
