Thank you for participating in the Belonging by Design pilot. This project explores how instructors use collaboration-readiness data and targeted supports to help students develop the skills needed to connect, contribute, collaborate, and belong. You may access the training here.
Administer the Readiness Check before beginning team-based work. Email Denise when complete.
Students will complete the Collaboration Readiness Check online and complete this worksheet to share with you. Review student reflections.
Review the Class Summary & Planning Guide for your class.
Consider:
What stands out?
What surprises you?
Which area may benefit from support?
Choose one focus area based on your class results.
Explore the resources associated with your chosen focus area.
Select one support (strategy, activity, protocol, or resource) to implement with your students.
You may choose:
a strategy you already use
a resource from this toolkit (organized by topic)
a resource from another source (please consider what you use)
The goal is intentionality, not fidelity.
After implementing the strategy, reflect on the experience.
Consider:
What did you notice?
How did students respond?
What seemed to work well?
What challenges emerged?
What might you try next?
If desired, revisit the Summary Report, select another support, or administer the readiness check again later in the semester and repeat the cycle.
At the conclusion of your pilot experience, please share your feedback and reflections.
Complete the Faculty Survey and upload your Planning Guide with notes.
Participate in an Interview via Zoom.
Your feedback will be used to refine the framework, toolkit, and pilot process for future implementation.
Thank you for helping shape the future development of Belonging by Design.
