Weeks 16-20
As the competition nears the 5th and 6th graders works in pairs to solve as many missions as possible. Many identified the easiest missions due to their proximity to the launch area and because of the simple attachment needed to solve them. The biggest challenge is accuracy and consistency. Students need to ensure their robot starts from the exact same spot each time. As well, they need to make sure that their robot moves as straight as possible.
The next steps are for students to begin to work in larger teams, choose on robot design, and begin working on their innovation project.
