Selection Process and Criteria
The number of students admitted into the Warrior Robotics program will be limited in order to deliver the highest quality experience possible. A committee of ASFG admin and staff will work through the criteria to select participants. This is to ensure the program meets the highest standard of fairness and transparency when making these delicate decisions.
The following criteria will be used to help determine which students are accepted. Note, the program committee will not discuss any decisions regarding specific students.
Students current participation in the program. Students already enrolled in the program or on the waiting list will have first priority.
Student's school record of responsibility in curricular and co-curricular programs. Students must have a clear and proven track record of responsible behavior during school and in after-school programs. Students who have a record of misbehavior, as determined through school normed tracking, may be disqualified.
Balance of age and gender representation. The program will strive to avoid a significant age and gender imbalance.
Lottery. With all other criteria being equal, students will be randomly selected to the program.
Note: the program will maintain a full capacity of participants. A waiting list, determined by the above criteria, will be kept to fill vacant spots.
