Estimate and Weigh

Collect 5 small items from around your home. Estimate their weight then check using a scales. How close was your estimate?

Recognising Coins

Ask to borrow a small collection of change. Look at the pictures on the coins and use crayons to make rubbings of the patterns. Can you total the coins and work out how much there is altogether?

Comparing Prices

If you have a toy catalogue at home, choose 10 items and put them in order according to their price, lowest to highest. Or make your own play toy shop. Put the prices on your toys and practise counting out coins to pay for them.

Measuring in cm

Measure and draw lines on a page. Start by drawing a line exactly 1cm, then 2cm until you have ten lines. Turn your page of lines into a picture. Maybe with a forest or a space theme.
