WHat is Speech Team?

SHMS' Speech Team (a.k.a. "Declam Team") is an opportunity for students to hone their public speaking skills, gain confidence, and have fun.  Participating in Speech Team involves:

• Picking (or writing) a 5-8 minute piece to perform (solo or with a partner)

• Rehearsing the piece with peers and coaches.

• Performing the piece at 4 Meets. 

All 6th-8th grade students are invited to participate.  If you want to sign up for speech, or you just want to learn more about it see Coach Walton or Coach Toutge.
