Script may be taken from any genre
Introduction sets the theme, mood, scene (must include author/title)
Distinction between characters (characters should be believable)
May use a script
Duo may look at each other only during introduction/transitions
Speakers typically make a “V” formation, but may both just be facing forward
Duo does not need to make eye contact with the audience, but may
Movement is restricted. Student may take 2-3 steps during a transition
Acting with movement is discouraged
Define your character(s)
Think about quality of voice (gravely, airy, or normal)
Think about pitch (low, high, or normal)
Think about volume (soft, loud, normal)
Only use an accent if it is implied in the text. Don’t add random ones!
Think about character(s)’ actions:
Arms (straight, not much, or very big)
Hands (not fidgety, flappy, still)
Feet (no exaggerated rocking or jittery movement)
Think about Posture:
Chin (up, down, normal)
Back (straight, slouch, normal)
Shoulders (back, forward, normal)
Hips (forward, normal)
POPS (Each character has a different posture). So POP to each of these postures to show change in character:
Should be quick and smooth
Center around your core
Don’t move too many things at once
Keep it simple

Read it backwards
Go people watching and look for people who talk/move like your character
