Good communication between home and school is vital to a successful school experience for each child. In order that parents may know when to expect written communications, Wednesday has been chosen as the regular Communication Day at Weddington Hills. Please check your child’s communication folder, ESPECIALLY ON WEDNESDAYS. Updates and information will also be shared via LiveSchool, our school wide behavior recording system. Monthly/weekly communication from the school will be sent via ParentSquare to your email that is on file in Powerschool. Classroom teachers and staff will respond to all parent communication within 24 hours, with the exception of Friday afternoon/weekends.
All communication must be through ParentSquare or email or not in the communication folder.
The people of Cabarrus County can be very proud of the harmonious relations which exist among its school personnel, students, parents and the general public. However, from time to time in any organization, there are questions, problems and grievances which need attention. It is the desire of the Cabarrus County Schools to have good, clear communications and to resolve problems and grievances in a simple, orderly, and equitable manner.
The following guidelines have been established by Cabarrus County Schools for good communication regarding problems and grievances.
Talk to the teacher or other school staff person with whom you have a problem, a question, a grievance. Give that person a chance to settle the dilemma before contacting others.
If you are not satisfied with your contact in step one, then ask for a conference with the principal to attempt to resolve the problem.
If you feel that your problem is still not resolved to your satisfaction, then you should confer with the superintendent of schools or with someone on the superintendent’s staff whom he designates to hear the problem.
If your problem is still not resolved to your satisfaction, then you should request in writing, addressed to the superintendent, a hearing before
the Board of Education.
The superintendent will inform you of the date on which the Board will hear your grievance. At the hearing before the Board, all parties will be given an opportunity to be heard.
