Inclusive teaching comprises a broad set of frameworks, principles and practices that intentionally create a learning environment where all students, regardless of their background and abilities, have equal opportunities to succeed and feel valued. It recognizes and addresses systemic inequities that can hinder student learning and participation, and promoting a sense of belonging for all -- particularly those who identify as people color, LGBTQIA+, first-generation, differently-abled, neurodiverse, or as members of any marginalized or minoritized groups. Inclusive Teaching is an all-encompassing approach to being more inclusive of ALL students. In other modules we will enumerate more defined practices to level the playing field for specific marginalized groups. For example, we will discuss Culturally-Responsive Pedagogy which outlines practices for embracing aspects of students' cultural identity to increase engagement and learning outcomes. And when we talk about Universal Design for Learning for Equity we will address making the learning environment more accessible for ALL students including those who are neurodiverse or who have physical or learning disabilities.
