The Industrial Design program of the College of Fine Arts, University of the Philippines, effects its vision through a robust academic program, research-driven projects, and collaborative partnerships to address problems in the realm of the social, cultural, environmental, and economic domains. The UPCFA-IndD strives to combine the strength of its faculty, students, its technical and infrastructure support, in cooperation with industry, institutional bodies and its various publics to produce new knowledge, forge skills, and hone attitudes in aspiring to provide authentic improvements to the lives of the people through design.
The UPCFA Industrial Design program envisions a design education that is responsive to current needs and demands. It seeks to enable students to be change agents by identifying urgent problems, critically analyzing conditions, and developing effective solutions that are humanitarian, economically viable, and sensitive to various cultural persuasions.
