Dear Alpine Employees,
As a part of HB358, state law requires all employees that access student data in any way to take data privacy training. Alpine District has decided to provide the training through our district professional development platform, Canvas. This training includes videos, presentation material and two quizzes. At the end, it will ask you to fill out a form which records that you have completed the training. This should only take about 10 minutes.
Here are the steps for completing the course.
1. Click here <https://alpinepd.instructure.com/enroll/4NF9B3> to access the Data Privacy Course in Canvas. It will ask you for a Google account to use. Use your Alpine District Google Account. It will ask for your Google password.
2. Canvas will present you a button called "Enroll in Course". Click on this button, then select "Go To The Course"
3. Click on the first item called "Student Data Privacy Video" in the first section of the course (called 'Understanding Data Privacy and the Applications I use').
4. When you completed watching the video, click on 'Next' in the bottom right hand corner. It will lead you to the next item.
5. After reviewing each item click 'Next' in the bottom right hand corner. This will include two quizzes.
6. The last item will ask you to fill out a Google form to indicate you have completed the training. Once the form is filled out, you have completed the course and your completion has been recorded.
If you are not able to access this course because of issues with your Google Account, please contact your school's tech. For other issues with access, please contact Blaine Edman or Cody Spendlove.
