Finalize Piece: Given a variety of mentor texts, students will be able to express and reflect on an event in MLA format. The essay must include the correct use of all of the following punctuation marks and literary devices: figurative language, colons, fragment sentences, and appositives.
Mini-Conference: Students will check off their I can Statements for week two in a mini-conference with me. I may refer students at this time to the mini-lessons on fragment sentences located in the QR Codes.

Finalize Piece
Given a variety of mentor texts, students will be able to express and reflect on an event in MLA format. The essay must include the correct use of all of the following punctuation marks and literary devices: figurative language, colons, fragment sentences, and appositives.
Silent Reading or Intervention Time
Students who are finished typing their essay and submitting it will read silently. Students who still need more than the allotted time to write their essay will use this time to write their essay, revise the use of fragment sentences by accessing the mini-lessons located in the QR Codes.

Students will check off their I can Statements for week two in a mini-conference with me. I may refer students at this time to the mini-lessons on fragment sentences located in the QR Codes.
Share Final Piece with Class
Students will share their piece with the class by reading it aloud to them.
