Using eBird

eBird is a citizen-science platform that collects everyday bird observations and stores them in a publicly accessible database. eBird can be used to keep track of personal bird sightings, find out what birds have been recently spotted in an area, and generate population-level data on bird movements and abundance. With over 700 million bird observations recorded so far, eBird is one of the largest citizen-science projects in the world.

This activity will be using eBird Essentials, a free course put out by the people behind eBird. The course features info on what eBird is and how to use it, and also has a brief quiz that reviews the covered material. The attached slideshow will walk you through how to set the course up and features an optional activity at the end for further learning.
