Romeo and Juliet Practice exam questions:

You should answer questions on characters and themes that you are least comfortable with.

Some of the questions / extracts are repeated in different theme or character sections. The passages for different characters are always ordered sequentially by where they appear in the play as a whole.

Revision suggestions:

Quick revision: take a character section and read all of the extracts. Make notes on important changes in language use, including symbols, relationship changes, key themes or patterns. Plan an exam response to one question.

Medium revision task: complete just the extract analysis part of the exam question in around 20 minutes.

Longer revision tasks: complete a full exam response in 50 minutes, thinking about both the extract and the play as a whole. Remember, when referring to other parts of the play, you can make use of other extracts in each section below to support your references.
