Tachycineta bicolor
Habitat: Open fields and clearings near forest
Food: Various flying insects, generally of the suborder Nemotecera, but they aren't very picky.
Nesting Habits: Old tree hollows or nesting boxes. Nests constructed of a neat ring of grass, then layered with a collection of scavenged feathers. Usually lays 4-7 eggs, which are incubated for 14-16 days. The hatchlings leave the nest at around 16-21 days old, at which point their feathers are mostly developed.
