Pages can be used to create any kind of document you wish. If you are planning to use it with students, we recommend either selecting an existing template or creating and sharing a template for students to work from. See below for instructions on how to do that!
This guide focuses on Pages for MacOS, but many of the steps can also be done on an iPad.
Full user guides from Apple can be found here:
To create your own template for sharing in Pages you can:
Choose an existing template to modify, or start with a blank page
Edit your template until it is the way you like it
Select File->Save as Template
Import the template file into your Google Classroom class
When students open the template file, they should "Add to Template Chooser"
Students can now find it under "My Templates"
To add a media placeholder to your template:
Add an image to your document, then format it the way you want your document’s images to look.
You can add a mask, add a border, rotate the image, change its size and more.
Click the image to select it, then choose Format > Advanced > Define as Media Placeholder (from the Format menu at the top of your screen).
