English as an Additional Language

As some children join Hall Road with little or no English, we have a dedicated staff member who will work with staff and families as a rigorous programme of support to ensure all learners feel welcome and settle quickly.

We do this by:

● Getting to know know each family well

● Establish a baseline within the first 2 weeks using the ‘Language in Common’ document

● Working with class staff to devise a programme matched to need using a range of resources
