Input your information into the Google Form Application (available May 17)
You must use your AAPS Google account to access the application.
Upon completion, you will be emailed your individualized CR application.
The completed application will be sent to you and your family by email for your records only.
The CR office will also receive an electronic copy.
You and your family will receive an email with the name and email address of your CR monitor.
The CR monitor is the AAPS teacher who oversees the CR course and records your grade on your transcript.
Please give us a week or so to contact you after you have submitted the form.
a) For a traditional CR,
ask your CR INSTRUCTOR to send the syllabus to your CR monitor and to the CR student in an email. This ensures everyone has the same information. It will also serve as the instructor's agreement to teach this CR to you this semester.
They will also include the volunteer certification form for a background check, if necessary.
However, if the STUDENT would like to submit the syllabus, they will also need to forward the email in which the instructor agreed to teach the CR or ask the instructor to send an email to the CR monitor explicitly stating that they are willing to teach you in this CR experience. The instructor must also submit the volunteer certification form by email, when necessary.
b) For a UM CR,
the CR student will send the UM course syllabus to the monitor AND forward the email that they received from the UM instructor stating that the student could participate in the UM class.
A volunteer certification form is not necessary.
c) For a "Pre-approved" CR,
the syllabus and volunteer certification form are already on record in the CR office.
The CR student should simply email the CR Instructor to introduce yourself and for further details.
a current professor/instructor/lecturer at a local university or a teacher in Ann Arbor Public Schools
the parent of the student. However, if there are additional students in the CR, a form must be submitted
Note: Volunteer Certification forms are valid for one year. If a CR Instructor submitted a Volunteer Certification form during 1st semester, they do not need to submit another one for 2nd semester.
It is not uncommon for UM CR students to need an extension on the deadline, to comply with UM's drop/add, but the student must communicate with the CR department their intent to take a UM CR or a place in the program will not be held and the CR registration will be denied.
