Expectations

Instructor Weekly Expectations

• Work with the student to create a course plan and syllabus for the entire semester. Use the syllabus template on this site to be sure that you include all of the necessary information.

• Meet with the student for approximately 2 hours a week to teach concepts, review student work, proctor tests, etc. The student can work independently for an additional 2 to 3 hours a week. Total course time per week should be approximately 4 to 5 hours. It can be entirely meeting time with the instructor, but it cannot be mostly independent study with occasional check-ins with the instructor.

• Grade student work and submit grades to the AAPS CR monitor at the marking periods. Elective courses can also be pass/fail and less grading is required but clear expectations for what is passing are required.

• Communicate (by email) with the CR monitor regarding student progress at each marking period.

• Provide a brief, written final evaluation with overall grade or pass/fail status at the end of the course.
