Cheri is a licensed social worker working directly with children and adolescents.  In 2021, Onondaga County collaborated with Helio Health to build school-based mental health programs within all four schools at Westhill.  These school-based clinics operate as satellite sites of Helio Health’s Child and Adolescent Outpatient clinic, which is located in downtown Syracuse, and can provide treatment for a large range of mental health and behavioral issues as well as substance use concerns.  Services are in-person or virtual, confidential, and separate from current school-based counseling and family services already provided by the school.  Helio Health is also able to provide psychiatric services (psychiatric evaluation, medication management) if needed.

Cheri is available to students for mental health services primarily during the school day, but will also be available during school breaks to provide year-round treatment.   Services are insurance based, and if you have questions about what your insurance coverage looks like you can reach out to your insurance company or Cheri.

Referrals come from the high school counseling office after consultation with families.  If interested in services, please reach out to your child's school counselor or the school social worker.

If families want to expedite being seen, Open Access at Helio Health's Meadows Integrated Outpatient Clinic operates Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 8:00 pm which allows patients to be seen without an appointment.  You may also call 315-471-1564 to schedule a time to go in to open the chart and get the assessment started.  

If you are in crisis and need to be seen, Helio Health has an Intensive Crisis Stabilization Center (ICSC) that is open 24/7/365. Helio Mobile Crisis Team, 315-401-4443, operates seven days a week, 8:00 am - 12:00 am for those clients who are Helio patients.
