Mediasphere traveled to Shenandoah River State Park today to meet with Chief Ranger Megan Goin and learn about everything that goes into the process of creating and maintaining a state park. They then had to use a hypothetical budget and retrictions and create their own state parks. Hopefully, this taught them some of the logistical challenges that go into creating something that attracts people to the outdoors.
We went to the Shenandoah River State Park. There, we learned about the history of state parks. We also got to design our own parks.

Today we went to Andy Guest State Park and did a program with one of the rangers. We split into two groups and designed our own State Park. We were given a budget, list of things we had to include, list of things and what they cost, and a map to draw on. Our team made a unique state park that had a total of 5 fishing docks.

Today in Mediasphere we went to a state park and learned a bit about how a state park is formed and financial parts about the park. As a final project we got to create our own state parks. I wanted to have a $80,000 dollar horse farm but my partners vetoed the idea.

Today we went to Shenandoah River State Park and learned about the importance and expenses of keeping the park open. We made our own park with a 1.5 million dollar budget (this was all on paper we didn’t use actual money) and presented them.

Today we went to the Raymond R. "Andy" Guest Jr. State Park, which is usually known as just the Shenandoah River State Park. We learned about state parks, their origin and a brief overview of their differences from national parks. We had a project in which we had to design a state park with a few caveats and we had to reach a specific budget that was placed. We had to design what we would put into those state parks like camping grounds and a visitors center.

Today we went to Shenandoah River State Park where we learned about how to influence the public to go to the park by programs, campsites, attractions, and other activities like camping, staying in cabins, fishing, etc. We learned how to build a park in a way where things are convenient for the public and make them better than other parks.
