Rotation Information/Orientation
- 1 month rotation, based in the Division of Anatomical Pathology (Neuropathology Specialty Group), Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, University of Alberta Hospital
- Reference Textbook: Escourolle and Poirier's Manual of Basic Neuropathology, 5th Edition, Gray F, Duyckaerts C, De Girolami U.
- Additional support from a neuropathology website (http://neuropathology-web.org)
- Case-oriented teaching with neuropathologists on a daily basis, as well as review of slide sets
- Teaching slide sets from neuropathologists to supplement learning
- Tumor Boards:
- adult: weekly, Thursday 8 - 9 am, Cross Cancer Institute, Room 0.421 (or 1.421)
- pediatric: biweekly, Thursday 1 - 2 pm, LMP, Room 5B3.04 WMC
Call: No Neurology Call
Assessment: Evaluation of resident performance on rotation will be compiled at the end of rotation by the neuropathologists. The resident has to book an appointment with Dr. van Landeghem and Dr. Lu for a midpoint evaluation at 6 weeks after rotation start date.
