If I could bubble air

To hand to you while we drown

My last breath

Would be currency for your tomorrow

And I would pray

To a propitious God

That our last moments would be wistful enough

To make time pause and consider its course

Maybe in that moment we could exist

         Until the sun burns out

         And the universe fractals back on itself

         Until time forgets it was meant,

to choke air from our faltering lungs

Given the choice between

         Indefinitely living a frozen moment

         And dying a little while I live each instant
