Richard Misrach, Cancer Alley
https://fraenkelgallery.com/portfolios/petrochemical-america
Misrach is fine art photographer who has spent much of his career documenting the effects of humans on their landscapes, particularly in areas that are dangerous, contested, poisoned, and forgotten or deliberately ignored. Check out the Cancer Alley series on the stretch of the Mississippi largely occupied by the petrochemical industry.

Petrochemical America is a collaboration between photographer Richard Misrach (see above) and Geographer/Cartographer/Social Scientist Kate Orff. Orff "unpacks" Misrach's photos by examining and portraying the interactions of people, industry, consumption, and and the natural landscape that the photos show only one layer of.
