Deadline: Nov 4th is the entry close date so your movies need to be completed by the Thursday of week 3.
This is not long so you need to keep your storyline to the main ideas.
Try to tell it visually so you have little need for a voice over that explains what is happening. You may like to include some dialogue though which you will animate.
You will be doing this in a group of 2-3 so work out who is going to animate what. You will need to share backgrounds and graphics though to keep the continuity going throughout the story. This wil mean someone may do the drawing while someone may animate. You will need to plan your project carefully so everyone has something they can be working on.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You have to include somewhere however you can at least of the photos/videos in the I Am Making Movies resource page. If you can't think of how you could include one of them in your animation at least make it the background of your title. (It would be better to try and incorporate it into your animation though)
PROCESS
Step 1: (By Tues of week 1)
Choose your group.
Read the stories and decide which story you would like to animate.
Step 2 (By Tues of week 1)
Story Map - draw a map that show the main parts of the story, identify the climax. Photograph your map and upload it into a group presentation as a place to store your notes.
Step 3 (By Tues of week 1)
Plan - How are you going to illustrate the main scenes. Create a table that shows what your different scenes are and how they will show the action of the story your viewer will need. If you plan to have dialogue you will need to include it here. You will also need to think about what different viewpoints/angles/perspective you are going to draw/animate your graphics to make it interesting.
Step 4 (Weeks 1-2)
Create Draw/Record/Make a soundtrack
Step 5 (Week 3)
Complete by putting all your animations etc together into an i-movie
As a class we will decide which movies are good enough to submit. Remember they need to clearly show the story, be creative and interesting, be well created.
Check out these movies for inspiration on ways to make your animations interesting. I know most of these are fairly complicated but they may give you some inspiration.

Here's a good way to show an animation of a boat. You could use the way they animated the sea.
Te Ika o Maui (Crusader, Marvin, Darius)
Maui's Birth (Vivienne, Osana) (Sesalina, Mele) (Ashleigh, Chante)
Paikea (Awhina, Mino, Jarna) (Lave, Tana, Heremaia)
Rona and the Moon (Melvin, Tevita)
Tinirau and Kae (Kayde, Matthew, Cruz)
Kupe's Voyage (Tupac, Kobe) (Piriniha, Kaiden)
