Mr. Jabbar

Although saddened by Ms. Sy’s death, we have been blessed with our new ESOL teacher, Mr. Jabbar! Ms. Sy once said, “The purpose of life is to discover your gift. The meaning of life is to give your gift away.” We know he will do great things for our students, and leave a special mark on each and every one of them for years to come. Now, let’s get to know him a bit! Mr. Jabbar was born in Iraq, and he moved here in 2010. He wanted to teach ESOL because he was also once an ESOL student and he wanted to help others. He has a unique sense of humor, as shown by when he answered one of our questions with a funny remark. The question was, “what is your dream car?” And he simply replied with, “A car that has four wheels and can get me to and from work.” He also seems to value his wonderful family, which is lovely. I am very excited to see the progress he will make-- not only in his students, but also in himself.
