As a Google Workspace for Education district, we encourage staff to share documents electronically whenever possible and print only when necessary.
Approved laser printers are workgroup-class devices designed for 10–30 users.
The following vendors are approved and supported for district use.

Printer Deployment & Usage
District-Provided Copier
Each site is provided one primary high-volume copier
Intended for administrative and general building use
Workgroup Printers
Approved printers (Lexmark, HP, Dell) support 10–30 users
Designed for moderate daily printing
Not intended for high-volume copying
Frequent high-volume use may lead to reduced performance and increased maintenance
High-Volume Printing
Large print jobs (packets, bulk printing) require:
Additional copier or
High-efficiency solution (e.g., Risograph)
These solutions are site- or program-funded
Ownership & Purchasing
Additional printers must be:
Purchased using site/program funds
Sourced through approved vendors
IT does not provide additional copiers beyond the standard allocation
Placement & Access
Printers should be in shared, accessible locations
Devices should not be restricted to individual use
USB-only printers are not permitted
Inventory & Network Requirements
All printers must:
Be connected to the district network
Be tracked in Incident IQ (iiQ)
Have a defined owner (site, department, or program)
Unmanaged or unauthorized printers are not supported
If you are maintaining an older, out-of-warranty printer, you may request repairs (such as fuser kit replacement) through any of the approved vendors listed above.
Inkjet printers are not supported due to their high cost per page and limited serviceability.
Cost per page – Inkjet printing often runs $0.25–$1.00 per page, while approved laser printers average under $0.05 per page.
Idle problems – Ink cartridges dry out quickly when not used, leading to frequent replacement.
Service limitations – Most inkjet models cannot be repaired affordably.
Reliability – Laser printers are better suited for 300+ pages per month and can sit idle without issues.
Sustainability – Laser cartridges are recyclable; inkjet cartridges are generally disposable.
IT Services provides support only for approved printers.
Unauthorized printers are not permitted on the OKCPS network (wired or wireless).
Wireless printing is not supported on any printers in the district.
