Friday's Answers
1) Hexagonal prism: 8 faces, 18 edges, and 12 vertices
Hexagonal pyramid: 7 faces, 12 edges, and 7 vertices
2)
Step #1: Calculate the volume of the triangular prism: Base x Height x Length divided by 2
Volume = 2 cm x 3 cm x 5 cm / 2 = 15 cm^3
Step #2: Calculate the volume of the rectangular prism: Length x Width x Height
Volume = 10 cm x 2 cm x 12 cm = 240 cm^3
Step #3: Find out how many times you would need to empty the triangular prism into the rectangular prism.
So, when you want to see how many times a small number will go into a larger number, you can use division.
240 cm^3 / 15 cm^3 = 16
Therefore, Jackie would have to fill the triangular prism and empty it into the rectangular prism 16 times.
